CANNING HOUSE LATIN AMERICAN LITERATURE BOOK GROUP The group was inaugurated in October 2003 and has been meeting regularly since. In the four years of operation books by diverse writers, male and female, from most of the countries of Latin America have been read and discussed. The books have ranged across various genres: novels, short stories, memoirs and travel. The group meets at Canning House on the second Monday of each month, with the exception of August, from 6.30 to 8.00. Books can be read in any language but the discussion is always in English. All are welcome and interested readers can attend one meeting as a 'taster' session. Thereafter membership of Canning House is required. Sometimes a waiting list is in operation.
