Using the Library - Admission & Borrowing
Library closed weeks
The Library will be closed in August (4th-29th inclusive).
Reference
Reference use of the Library is free to bona fide researchers.
Opening Hours: Mon--Fri 2.00--6.00pm; Sat, Sun Closed.
Borrowing Facilities
These are available to Canning House Members on production of a valid membership card. Current subscriptions are £35-£70. When applying for a borrower's ticket please provide proof of address (e.g. bank statement, utilities bill, driving licence). For more information on Canning House Membership, please click here.
Terms of borrowing
Up to 5 books and 2 videos/DVDs may be borrowed by individual members.
Up to 10 books and 3 videos/DVDs may be borrowed by joint members, School/College members, and Corporate Members.
The loan period in all cases is 4 weeks for books and 1 week for videos/DVDs.
By post: outward postage costs must be refunded when loans are returned.
Fines are levied on overdue books, at the rate of 10 pence per book/video/DVD per day.
Photocopying
A self-service copier is available. Charges: A4 size 15p per copy, A3 size 30p per copy.
