Canning House Library holds the largest collection in the UK on the Spanish- and Portuguese-speaking countries that is available to the general public. Established in 1947, the library contains more than 60,000 books and periodicals, films on DVD and video, CD-ROMs and audio CDs/tapes, covering the full range of disciplines in the Social Sciences and Humanities: history, politics, economics, sociology, ethnography, religion, archaeology, geography, natural history, literature, cinema, travel, art, music, culture and linguistics
