Whether you are interested in art, literature, music or travel, there will be something at Canning House for you. Our lectures, courses and concerts attract leaders and new talent in their field, and provide a basis for exploring the unique and varied cultures of the Hispanic and Portuguese speaking world.

We have three separate spaces for cultural events: the main performance hall, the exhibition centre and a smaller lecture room. We hold evening concerts, film screenings, book launches, exhibitions, play readings and lectures on a huge range of subjects from literature and art to travel and exploration. Often followed by a reception, participants have the opportunity to meet other interested people as well as the experts giving the lectures.

Canning House offers in-house Portuguese and Spanish adult courses for all levels with highly qualified teachers. We can also organise tailor-made courses for special groups.

Canning House is developing an educational out-reach programme for schools in the UK who teach Spanish and Portuguese. As part of our work we hold an annual Essay Competition and activity days for schools.
