Minister Daniel Carlos Martinez has a degree in Mechanical and Industrial Engineering. As an industrial engineer at the Oil Refinery Plant, he oversaw projects in a variety of technical areas. He has significant professional experience as an industry consultant specialising in metallic structures, machinery and processes automation. He has acted as an adviser for Montevideo City Council and in 2005 he was appointed President of state oil company ANCAP. In March 2008 he was appointed Minister for Industry, Energy and Mining of Uruguay.
