Dr. Evan Ellis is a professor of national security studies, modeling, gaming and simulation at the Center for Hemispheric Defense Studies in Washington DC.

Dr. Ellis has presented his work on Latin America strategic issues and other topics in business and government fora in the United States, throughout Latin America, France, and the United Kingdom. His published articles include treatments of Latin America's relationship with China, urban street gangs, and regional energy security issues. His recent work China in Latin America: The Whats and Wherefores is the first book-length treatment of the topic to appear in print and will be available to purchase at the event.

Professor Tim Connell, Director of Language Studies at City University, will chair.
